Bluegrass Brothers
ROBERT DOWDY Banjo,Lead and Harmony. Robert started playing the guitar at age five. He played Rock and Country music until he was twelve and then he picked up the the banjo and Bluegrass music. Robert counts his infulences as the The Osborne Brothers, Flatt and Scruggs, Reno Smiley and The Stanley Brothers.
STEVEN DOWDY Guitar,Lead and Harmony Vocals. He started singing at the age of three. His first song was “Elvira” by The Oak Ridge Boys. He started very young on the guitar and mandolin. Along with Bluegrass Boys he has been in the bands Lock, Stock and Barrell, Bum Ride and Junior Sisk and Rambler’s Choice.
DONALD DOWDY Guitar,Lead and Harmony Vocals. He has been playing and singing bluegrass music for ten years. Oddly, he plays lefthanded but with his guitar or mandolin strung for a right hander. He has recorded many songs with Bluegrass Brothers.
VICTOR DOWDY Bass,Lead and Harmony Vocals He has lived his entire life in Salem Virginia. He has won many awards on Bass fiddle. He likes playing with Bluegrass brothers even though he even though he learned his skills with the band The Meadow Creek Express Band.
BILLY HURT JR Fiddle. He has been playing the fiddle since he was eight. He is an original member of Blugrass Brothers. He has played with numerous bands, and he likes old country music, swing, jazz, and many other forms of great music.
